The family, a mosaic of gestures and relationships: a single word is not enough to capture it all.

In 2024, the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of CISF is accompanied by an extensive research initiative focused on the dimension of family life: "Living in the home, the city, Creation". This broad topic represents an ambitious challenge to interpret contemporary age from both a forward-looking and intergenerational perspective.

This initiative has led to the development of a cultural project, including an exhibition, which seeks to complement and visually represent these research paths.

We envisioned a word cloud of names and actions that could represent the full richness of the subject. These key terms unite all families, and are presented on the panels you see here: ten of them will guide you through a narrative and visual journey

Only one word is associated with each portrait, representing a predominant characteristic or suggestion, all the surrounding words contribute to a more complete definition.

The concept behind WE, HOME, has been developed in collaboration with the CISF Scientific Committee and offers an overview of family interiors in which families are portrayed in their central role captured in an intimate and authentic dimension. It focuses on acts of care and emotional bonds, central to the moments spent at home with loved ones.

While maintaining a focus on the contemporary family, which is in a constant state of evolution, the exhibition emphasises the intimate spaces of daily life. The title WE, HOME evokes the idea of “we” as a collective subjectivity, while “home” is interpreted not only as a noun but also as a verb, signifying the act of living, enlivening spaces, and, by extension, hosting and welcoming.
