50 shots for 50 years of CISF: a journey through people, generations, and relationships.
WE, HOME presents the family as a space where individuals grow and experience relationships, differences, and intergenerational connections, amidst both daily joys and challenges, even when light gives way to shadow.
Within the family, joys and sorrows are shared—smiles exchanged as often as scoldings, sulking, and side glances, as well as hugs and gestures of reconciliation. Like words, gestures multiply and take on many forms.
Ten families from various cities across Italy were selected, each living in diverse housing situations—apartments, townhouses, farmhouses, rural homes— each vastly different from the other. These include young people planning their futures, as well as elderly individuals cared for by their children; families composed of several generations, as well as small, newly-formed families; large, welcoming families, and single-parent families; Italian families, and foreign or multi-ethnic families.
WE, HOME is a visual and auditory experience.
The images on display are accompanied by brief audio tracks that narrate the stories of the ten families featured, who are also depicted as hubs of supportive communities open to the outside world. The aim is to highlight, through these images, the dynamics of daily life and the quality of relationships among individuals and across generations.
Each family represents the connection between the home as a whole and the rooms or spaces where its members experience their greatest happiness or spend the most significant moments of their daily lives.
